Given room the plant runs to four and a half or five feet and hangs itself with lantern-shaped pods that start green and pass through orange on the way to red. Moderately thick walls, sweet and tangy and refreshing rather than punishing. Worth knowing: it tastes best picked slightly underripe. The tang goes out of it once the pod turns fully red. Dries to a good powder.
