Chile Tepin Pepper Plant
Price: $25.00 USD
Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum — the ancestral wild pepper of the American Southwest and Mexico. Tiny round pods, barely the size of a pea, ripening red. 50,000–100,000 SHU with fast, intense heat that fades faster than most cultivated peppers. Seeds are spread by birds, which can’t taste capsaicin. Used dried in salsas and regional cooking across northern Mexico and South Texas. Considered the mother species of many modern cultivated peppers.
